*SPOILER ALERT (although if you don't know by now, you're slow)* -- A lot my my friends didn't think it was that big of a deal when Fred died, and they thought the movie should have made a bigger deal of Dobby/Lupin/Tonks dying, but honestly, out of all of the deaths during the battles, Fred's upset me the most. I think killing Fred is the ONE mistake Jo made in writing of all of the books.
I agree it was very tragic, sure it was horrible when the rest died as well, but even though Remus Lupin is my fav character it felt like it was his time, and it had felt that way ever since Sirius died. I never thought he'd live long after that, since he was the last loyal Marauder left so it was no surprise when he died, even if it was very sad. But Fred... it had a high shock factor and was just terrible. Makes you wonder what happened with their joke shop after that, if George ever felt like going on with it alone.
